The Chamber Ensemble of London - up to 14 string players - is directed by the violinist Peter Fisher, amongst a handful of the world's finest musicians as The Times noted following a Royal Albert Hall concert in 2005.

The Ensemble appears regularly at St Martin-in-the-Fields off Trafalgar Square in London. It has been associated for many years with the Wavendon Festival run by Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine.

The players are handpicked from London's best.

Their repertoire spans baroque, classical, romantic and new music.

Their CD "English Music for Strings" - a brilliant CD with a well-balanced programme (as John France commented in a Musicweb review) - was released by Campion Cameo in 2006. This has featured on BBC Radio 3. It is available from www.dimusic.co.uk

The Chamber Ensemble of London recently played two music-and-pictures programmes for the London Film Museum in County Hall. LFM liked the result and is redeveloping the programmes for commercial release on DVD. CEOL has recorded sound tracks for the following:

LONDON AND THE THAMES
The river from source to mouth with pictures old and new. Famous music - London Bridge, Eton Boating Song, Water Music, Yeomen of the Guard etc. all arranged for strings by Clive Jenkins, CEOL's associate composer, who has also contributed some new items.

LONDON FOUR SEASONS
Vivaldi's perennial musical masterpieces with appropriate visuals from LFM.

Following the success of CEOL's first CD for Campion records, 'English Music For Strings', a second CD featuring English string music across the ages is to be recorded in 2011.
